Pulau Tioman or Tioman Island is located about 56 km from the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Covers over 38 km long and 19 km at its widest point.
 
The island enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures ranging between 28°C to 30°C. The water temperature is 28°C. Visitors can experts occasional torrential rains, especially from November to February. However, most resorts to continue to operate during this season and the activities may take place as usual.

The island has basic but adequate facilities for tourists. The phones can be used with phone cards Telekom. Cellular communication is limited to Maxis or CELCOM lines (depending on the area you are in). Visitors can access the Internet Information Center Tekek infront of Tioman Airport.

Government clinics are located in Mukut, Genting and Tekek and operate 8:15 a.m. to 4.45pm. 24 hours medical service is available at Berjaya Tioman Beach, Golf & Spa Resort. Electricity voltage is 220-240 volts, while A / C at 50 cycles per second. Visitors are advised to make prior financial arrangements on the continent. Major credit cards are accepted in some resorts and retail outlets. There is only one bank (Bank Simpanan Nasional) located in Tekek. Operated 9.00am-4.30pm from Monday till Friday. You are advisable to bring enough money just in case the bank is closed due to public holiday or problems with ATM Machine.
