This is the main entry point to Tioman via air ad sea. It is also the largest village as well as the administrative centre for the island. Within this village are government offices, a police station and school.

Tekek has the longest beach on the island, nearly 2 km in length. Facilities for tourists include numerous chalets, restaurants, souvernir shops, dive operators and moneychanger.
